Disappointment on Sunday
We went into the cup final feeling OK but knew it was going to be a big match. And so it proved. Reading were well-drilled and a team full of confidence. They played some great rugby and the match proved to be a bit too much for Worcester Greyhounds. 12-3 at half time to Reading didn't get any better in the second half. We went down in the end 24-8.
All congratulations to reading who were impressive opposition and well-deserved winners. particularly impressed with the Reading 8 and 15. No idea of names (lost my programme, sorry!). Thanks to Lou and Wino for our points.
Squad: Hair, Emelie, Fay, Wino, Kacie, Ghostie, Lize, Rhi, Fran, Abby, Lou, Beth, Sophie, Jade, Zoe, Nic, Shoulders, Peaches, Crookie, Lydia, Fidler, Katie.
While we lost the match, we are very proud of all the squad for making it to the national final. Well done and as the last 15s match for Rich, Tolley and I a great performance to go out on.

Sunday and Tour
Things seem to be all sorted for Sunday. 10.45 latest at Lichfield. Want to try and get changed and ready to go just after 11.00. It's a 12 o'clock kick off.
Can anyone who hasn't paid try to remember to bring hoody money please? Would be great if we could sort that one totally by Sunday! :D
On the subject of tour... after some hunting from Ghost, we've found a Travelodge near the 7s so as far as we know, staying overnight near the rugby club on the Saturday is a-ok! Therefore we just need to know whether everyone is up for it, as well as who can and can't come. It shouldn't be any more than £50, and that's the absolute maximum. We'd leave early on the Saturday, participate in (read: win) the 7s then head on over to the Travelodge for the night. Head back Sunday, around midday-ish maybe?
Anyways, let either me or Ghostie know asap if you're available. Remember, 7s squads are smaller than normal ones so I don't know what's gonna happen in regards to who's playing etc, but I guess if everyone brings their kit they may be able to help out some other teams if not in the squad? I dunno. Everyone is expected for tour, though. :)
Finally, Ghostie, Rhi and myself have been throwing around ideas for a tour theme. Rhiannon, who is insistent that she has a SWAG bag, wants to do cops and robbers. Backs would be cops, forwards would be robbers. Cops can be anything from your average bobby to detectives. As for me personally, I'm going as Special Agent in charge if we are up for this.
If anyone has any other suggestions for a theme, let us know. We know it's short notice for the theme, but everyone has to make some kind of small effort, or we'll have to think of a punishment...
See everyone Sunday!

Worthing trip off
Due to a shortage of player numbers and as we have the national cup final next week, Rich, Tolley, Jem and I have had to make the decision not to gtravel to Worthing this weekend. I know this is disappointing news, but we had to consider the risks to those players who would have had to play all of every match.
As it is the final next week, we will have a training session on Sunday as usual.

Worcester Greyhounds through to the final
Our first match of the day was against local rivals Burfield .
Worcester Greyhounds had a stormer of a game with three tries scored. Burfield giving us strong opposition in the forwards especially coming close to scoring on several near-miss occasions.
A typically strong performance from scrum-half Rose. Score: 17 - 0
Our second game was against West Park Leeds with only one try with a conversion scored.
A strong pack of forwards and a good back line in the second half meant that Worcester Greyhounds were on the back foot defensively for the entire half. West Park Leeds had many breaks and only some desperate tackling saved the game.
Score: 7 - 0
Our final game of the day was against Paviours.
A tired Worcester Greyhounds started the game with bad hands and poor tackling. However, as the game progressed Worcester Greyhounds were soon back on form with two tries scored in the first half.
A strong defence by Paviours meant that we did not add on anymore to the score in th second half.
Score: 12 - 0
Conversions by Louey.
Team: Hair, Emily, Faye, Wino, KC, Ghostie, Lize, Weewee Nic, Peaches, Shoulders, Crookie, Fran, Lou, Sophie, Beth, Jade, Abbie, Lydia, Katie and Zoe

Gloucester 10s
An early start and everyone was off to Hartpury College. A full squad and more meant that we had enough players. A special thanks to Shoulders (Sophie) who kindly volunteered to go and play for Old Northamptonians who were a little short. Some of our other players had one or more games for them so thanks to all who volunteered and hope that Shoulders's injured hand recovers soon.
First match - Pool match against New Cull (combined Newquay and Cullompton) and a rusty start for us. A good run out and we had to work to get a 25-0 win.
Second match - Pool match against old challengers Letchworth on the hill called pitch 2. A good win with a score of 27 -0.
Third match - Pool match against Suffolk Sabres. A tough one with some excellent players on the opposition. A much tighter 14-7 win.
Fourth Match - Final pool match against Berry Hill. Getting into our stride meant a 29-0 win against a good opposition.
Semi- final - Up against local rivals Burfield. Both teams know each other well and that adds some spice to the matches. Always tough to play against we ran out 12-7 winners in the end. Correction - 17 -7. Missed Wino's second try. Sorry
Final - We played a great Boadicieas Barbarians (Drybrook and Hucclecote) side. They had some real pace in a number of players and there was little we could do to compete. They were an excellent 10s side and ran out very worthy 29-7 winners.
Overall we had a good day and the competition was very successful. We look forward to going back again next year.
Team: Beth, Abby, Crookie, Lou, Ghostie, Hair, Wino, KC, Rhiannon, Emily, Sophie W, Jade, Lydia, Fran, Eliza (and Shoulders).

Videos of yesterday's match
I have been informed that a video clip of the incident on the pitch involving a Worcester and a Burfield player is allegedly being circulated. As far as I and the other coaches are concerned the incident was closed by the referee during the match and a penalty for the offence dealt out.
I would be very disappointed if any Worcester players were part of circulating any such clip and would discuss with my fellow coaches whether some sort of disciplinary action will be required.
